Day care is offered to children aged two to four years prior to attending school, at our Alderman Jacobs centre with a variety of sessions from 7:30am-6:00pm term time and 8:00am-6:00pm during the holidays throughout the year.

We aim to provide a safe, secure and stimulating environment for all children which is age and ability related.

Each child will have a personal key worker who will work closely with the child developing a bond and becoming sensitive to their feelings, ideas and behaviour. The keyworker will provide information about the child’s personal achievements, development and issues working with the parents, schools and other local groups involved in the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage). The EYFS applies to all children under the age of five and so rolls into the out of school care where, when possible the continuity of care will continue.

There will be healthy snacks and drinks available throughout the day but for lunch your child will require a healthy pack lunch.

Activities will be developed and adapted to individual needs, ability, cultural and religious beliefs.

Freely available activities which the children can participate in include art and crafts, table top toys and games,  large floor toys, home corner, a quite area, outdoor play equipment, bikes, scooters,  trike’s, climbing area and much more.

Along with the indoor facilities we have a dedicated secure outdoor area which allows us to introduce new landscapes and to have hands on experience of the natural world including growing vegetables for eating in the centre, flowers for cutting, composting and all things great and small (bugs), the children will also be helping to develop our outdoor facilities with the changing seasons.
